The Hall of Mirrors

Here, you see my final project of my Bachelors at San Jose State University in 2013. My intension was to draw the viewer into the gallery I have erected in the back of my mind; an homage to personal failure and fault.

For this project, I utilized large format black and white film, expired and unwanted x-ray film, and textures from over a hundred different sources and combined them together in order to create expansive, detailed pieces.  After mounting the images to a thin board, I devised a hanging method so that these pieces float above the surface of the gallery walls.

Not referenced here is a sound clip I produced with what I affectionately call 'headache music,' grating noises and more advanced works spliced together, with radio static segues.
